Urged by the current state of the natural environment, food and beverage industries are increasingly pressured to reduce environmental impact by societal groups, by tightening environmental regulation, and by customers and consumers down the supply chain. Four workshops will be held around the region designed to educate food processors and manufacturers about ways to improve efficiency and profitability all while reducing their environmental footprint through pollution prevention techniques.
Waste Reduction Partners: retired engineers and scientists with a high level of experience that provide waste, energy and/or water assessments. They will come onsite to do the assessment(s) and provide a follow up report with details and options on implementation along with cost savings that can result from implementation.
Environmental Stewardship Initiative: recognition program that promotes and encourages superior environmental performance. It is a free and voluntary program that provides technical assistance, trainings and networking opportunities for its’ members.
